The White County school system includes (7)seven elementary schools, (1)one Junior High and (1)one Senior High School. There is also a vocational technical school on the high school grounds and 3 private schools. 

 

Sparta also offers easy access to higher education. Tennessee Tech University is only 15 miles north in Cookeville. Middle Tennessee State University at Murfreesboro is 85 miles west. Motlow Community College and Tennessee Tech satellite campuses at McMinnville are 25 miles southwest. Tennessee Technology Center operates two nearby facilities. One is in Crossville, 30 miles east of Cookeville, and one in Livingston, 35 miles north.
